Senior Automation Engineer (m/f/d)
Your tasks:
  • You act as a solution-oriented member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team collaborating with Product Owners, Engineers from Product and Platform teams, and Designers.
  • You take complete ownership, expand and improve our web, API and in general test automation frameworks in the team.
  • You work with cloud platform and development teams to fully understand new features and define areas for improvement of our tooling, which can be achieved through automation.
  • You gain in-depth understanding of Syncier Marketplace core products and inner workings, and act as ambassador in our community of 30+ engineers for solutions, offering support and mentorship to colleagues.
Your profile:
  • You have 5+ years of hands-on experience in creating testing frameworks from scratch, and are familiar with extending and integrating frameworks.
  • You have experience in creating the tools and tests for API testing and UI testing (e.g. Selenium, Testcafe, Cypress). 
  • You have 5+ years of experience with Python, Groovy scripting or GoLang (advantage) as this is useful to create scripts for automations that are outside the web-ui/api context.
  • You have experience with contract-based testing (e.g. PACT tool) for microservices, choosing tools for integration testing with microservices and writing integration tests.
  • You have experience with end2end testing and know how to choose the right type of test to get the desired quality coverage.
  • You are experienced in creating and maintaining tests as part of CI/CD pipelines, using Azure pipelines, Jenkins, Concourse or similar tools.
  • You have a strong understanding of SDLC and how the testing and quality activities are introduced in each of its phases.
  • Experience designing/implementing test pipelines for multi-thread/multi-state environments would be a great advantage.
  • You possess strong knowledge of Agile testing methodologies and adapt best practices quickly. 
  • You understand the concepts of virtualization, containerisation, microservice architecture, cloud and SaaS.
  • You thrive on the opportunity to collaborate and mentor team members, while also sharing practical knowledge and trends.
  • You are open for new challenges as for exploring new ideas, new technologies and tools. 
  • We are looking for a strong problem-solver who can apply his/her engineering skills to a wide range of platforms and environments, while also acting as an ambassador to coach team members and stakeholders.
  • Interacting with front-end engineers, backend engineers, QA engineers, product managers and Cloud Platform (DevOps) team is very much part of our day-to-day. Communication skills are important in this role to make an impact on the engineering organization.
